by Lisa Hofer (11.07.2006) The guardians from Krefeld, Germany, are one of the most influential German metal bands - Hansi Kürsch and his team know how to enchant their fans. On their new album, "A twist in the myth“, the companions again pull all stops and combine the traditional values of their music with creative approaches of the innovative kind. The result is an album that masterly serves the different tastes and presents the band of some an unknown side. Already the hit single, "Fly" underpinned that Blind Guardian never repeat themselves. The lyrics were adapted to the modern sounds of the songs and consequently, they go beyond the borders of Middle Earth. Still, the songs have a great fantasy way, like e.g. "Turn the page“, a song that deals with the cult of the Wicca witches, while the powerful "The edge“ deals with the apostle Paulus. The excursions into new worlds do the combo good and feed the myth around the band with new legends.
