With a new clear vision that has formed during the 2-year pandemic-induced hiatus, the album 'A Living Commodity' represents a dynamic artistic shift for Egyptian Blue, showcasing the full range and ambition of their songwriting.
The first taste of their new music came in the form of 'Geisha,' a psychedelic-tinged punk assault driven by Luke Phelps' propulsive bass and Isaac Ide's powerful drums, complemented by frontmen Andy Buss and Leith Ambrose's sharp guitar playing, adding an enticing sonic collage to Buss' haunting and dark lyrics with the confession 'I live for only you.'
Their latest release, 'Matador,' and the current single 'Skin,' exhibit the high-intensity guitar band dynamics that EB is known for, but with a new sonic dimension reminiscent of Kid A-era Radiohead, the early days of Interpol, and Gang Of Four.
Now, after pouring all of their creative energy into the creation of their debut album 'A Living Commodity,' which demonstrates undeniable new ambition and hunger, Egyptian Blue is ready to assert their status as one of the best new guitar bands from the UK.
