by Markus Eck (07/03) Phil Anselmo, the vocal aggressor from Louisiana, better known from the ì Texan heavy metal platinum selling Pantera and his second noise troop, Down, ì returns again with another one of his projects. On their second album, after the 2002 debut, "Use once and destroy", Anselmo refines the ì power- and forceful groove metal of Superjoint Ritual with all possible ì throat acrobatics. Already the debut was a true acoustic stomach swinger, ì this again hits you strongly. The obviously extremely raging and completely ì uncompromising band celebrates their buzzing breaks full of rigid ì instrumental dynamics mit heaviest hardcore elements and numerous punishing ì sound attacks. The meaningful album title, "A lethal dose of American ì hatred" already suggests the direction of the band, consequently, Superjoint ì Ritual don't hesitate to use tons of power rhythms.
