by Björn Thorsten Jaschinski (18.01.2007) More than a decade ago Norway's soundwall pioneers began as a pure Thrash band (remains of that can be heard in "Icons of fear ..."). Since then they have stylistically changed over and over, increased their extremes and gained a lot of respect in the Norwegian Black Metal scene. Now the circle closes: in the mid 90s, some of the musicians involved had a side-project, called Dunkelheit, who released one single and one crazy album on a small label in Germany. Here, the self-called Universal Chaos Orchestra experimented with electronics and Industrial elements for the first time. Red Harvest today appears like an update of these days in the sound laboratory. Blastbeats have been reduced, the band performs more brute, but also more bombastic - more orchestral - than ever. Still, nerve-racking samples and heavy growls make clear from the beginning: they have not become softer, just more doomy and catchy. And now a tour with Disbelief please!
