12.131Danzig
by Matthias Mineur (null) Danzig still loves to tell stories of the darkness, where Lucifer's refuge is, where animals and human beings join together as a beast. The ex-Misfits frontman believes, he's "Satan's child" or an "East indian devil". Of course, it's all about "Apokalips" and the diabolical number "13". Danzig combines those pitch-black messages with a rough mix of Industrial, Black Metal and Punk. Howling guitars and a voice buried in extremely heavy riffs. Sometimes it comes up again for nice melody bows ("Belly of the beast"). If you listen carfully, you'll notice similarities to "War pigs" of Black Sabbath (Danzig's song is called "Lilin"), who, in the early seventies, arranged their songs in the same way: muffled, heavy, pitch-black messages and rumbling grooves. Since "Blackacidevil", we know that Danzig reverse through music history and that way, also just took Trent Reznor's pathological philosophy.
