9.Farewell
by Lothar Landt (07.10.2007) Variation is the most important attribute for this album because the nine songs serve all aspects of a great Progressive album. The opener, "Fed up with" contains some great breaks and quite intricate structures. The same can be said about the awesome "Different". "Deja vu" is a bit gloomier and more riff-orientated showing that singer Roland Stoll has a very variable voice, too. In contrast to that, "Phenomenon" almost has a Pop appeal and is very catchy. "Somebody" starts with a fine, bombastic intro and then turns into a dragging mid tempo track including integrated double-bass parts and fine solos. "Point zero" has a ballad-like character, yet, increases towards the end. Heart of the album, however, is the title track clocking in at over 14 minutes featuring many solo spots and bursting for musicality. "5th season" is a great album that unfortunately is the farewell of the band in this line-up because three of the five members are going to split from the band.
