by Ralf Koch (13.06.2008) They are the epitome of US alternative rock: hefty guitars, bombastic arrangements - the ultimate balance between rock songs and ballads plus the great voice of Brad Arnold. It is all of one piece, no artificial ingredients, but the real, authentic stuff. In addition to that, they haven't changed much since their 2000 smash hit "Kryptonite" ("this song changed everything for us" - bass player Todd Harell) - so, you can call them a prime example for modern AOR. Even nowadays, there are some "Away-from-the-sun"s, "Let-me-go"s and "Here-without-you"s, and "Citizen/Soldier" which they wrote for the US national guard in 2007, is on the CD, too. What can I say? Terrific! I dig it! Wouldn't have it any other way. You gotta have at least some pillars of this kind to lean yourself against in this "here today, gone tomorrow" music universe. Gentlemen, keep up the good work!
