Who would have thought that a series about highly gifted physicists would one day become a ratings hit? Nobody! At least not in 2007, when the sitcom first ran across the screens in the USA. But season after season, the weird masterminds around Dr. Dr. Sheldon Cooper gained more fans. Because nothing is more amusing than seeing the intelligence beasts with their highly complicated way of thinking fail at the simplest everyday problems. For example, they could build their own nuclear reactor in no time at all. If only someone would help them open the toolbox!

The Big Bang Theory - that's what it's all about

Leonard, who is not so brilliant, shares the apartment, the contents of the refrigerator and pretty much everything else with Sheldon. Except for the seat on the far left on the sofa. And if someone accidentally sits down on "Sheldon's place", he can be prepared for a thunderstorm. Because only here does Dr. Dr. Cooper sit at exactly the right distance from the heater, window and TV. The beautiful neighbor Penny knows this by now. She embodies everything that the idiots lack: The waitress, who would like to become a movie star, is attractive, popular and extremely quick-witted. And although they don't fit together at all, Penny ends up marrying the clumsy physicist Leonard. Not even his own mother loves him. But this could also be due to the fact that the strange psychoanalyst herself carries around some complexes.

And then there is the shy Indian Raj, who has a big problem with women. And the women with him. Unfortunately, the son of a gynecologist can't utter a single word in her presence. Together with the two scientists Amy and Bernadette, a roaringly funny cosmos of eccentric characters is created.

The end of The Big Bang Theory

After more than 10 years and 279 episodes, an era is coming to an end, because the successful nerd series is canceled after 12 seasons, despite excellent ratings and numerous nominations. The reason for the series end is said to be lead actor Jim Parsons , who wants to leave the series to devote himself to new projects. This news shocks fans around the world, as many followers of the series had been following the ups and downs of their favorite characters for years.

For fans who can't get enough of The Big Bang Theory, there is still a small consolation. The spin-off of the series "The Young Sheldon" is about the childhood of the protagonist Sheldon Cooper. Wit and fun are pre-programmed. If you watch the series in English, you can even hear the voice of Jim Parsons regularly, as he takes on the role of the narrator in the prequel.
