Yoda is one of THE cult characters of the Star Wars universe

Unfortunately, nothing is known about the Grand Master's origins. What is known, however, is that Yoda always walks with a cane and only takes small steps. Reason? The Jedi Master tried to hide the potential of his power this way. Did it work? Rather not, but even his opponents pay him respect. For Yoda's power goes hand in hand with great wisdom, which is able to let the light side of the Force prevail. As one of the heads of the Jedi Order, Yoda has also been able to use his abilities in various wars. His weapon is a green lightsaber and Luke Skywalker's training is thanks to him. Master Yoda is definitely one of THE cult figures from the Star Wars universe, which is why he is rightly one of your favourites.

Yoda Fun Facts

You want to know more about Yoda? No problem!

Fun Fact 1: Doll instead of monkey

Master Yoda's character was originally supposed to be played by a monkey with a walking stick and a face mask. Fortunately, this consideration was reconsidered, so that in the end the alternative with a puppet was resorted to. Thanks to the animated possibilities, Yoda was subsequently given his lightsaber to fight with.

Fun Fact 2: Little helpers in a big way

In "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi Knights", the heroes meet furry little creatures who help them. These creatures are called "Ewoks" and are not even mentioned by name in the entire film. Nevertheless, the Ewoks are very famous and many Star Wars fans love the little bears.

Fun Fact 3: Yoda doesn't have to have grammar

Master Yoda has a slight grammar problem right from the start. His grammatical idioms are still very characteristic and have a high recognition value. The man who gave Yoda this incorrect grammar is called Frank Oz. By the way, it wasn't a coincidence either, because Oz actually created this language especially for the green Jedi master.

Fact 4: History of the origin of the name

R2RD has an extremely funny name origin story. During the filming of the movie "American Graffiti"" a sound engineer asked George Lucas for a sound track with the following wording: "Reel 2, dialogue track 2"". George Lucas liked the resulting abbreviation - R2D2 - so much that he christened the little robot R2D2 in Star Wars.
