Ready to turn your style stakes up? Super Saiyan up? Gohan, you know you want to…
It’s time to Goku your wardrobe and, if you don’t see any Dragon Ball clothing, it’s time to right that wrong.
Broadcast in over 80 countries worldwide, the Dragon Ball franchise is one of the biggest Japanese anime productions in history. Dragon Ball Z – sometimes referred to as DBZ - is how many Western audiences were introduced to the whole saga, but in Japan, Dragon Ball came first. It told the story of a young monkey-tailed hero called Goku who, along with his friend Bulma, head out on an adventure to find seven mystical Dragon Balls. When found, they have the ability to summon the powerful dragon Shenron, who can grant whoever summoned him their greatest desire.
Dragon Ball Z came next, following a grown-up Goku as he defended the Earth against a myriad of iconic villains – including androids, aliens and vicious fighters. Dragon Ball Z was told in sagas: the Saiyan Saga, the Frieza Saga, the Android Saga and the Majin Buu Saga.
DBZ has become so popular that there have been numerous spinoffs and sequels to the animated television series, including 15 movies, 2 TV specials, 148 video games, and two sequel series: Dragon Ball GT (1996) and Dragon Ball Super (2015). The last known figures for the cumulative gross of the franchise was well over $5 billion – and this was in 2012.
With such a rich legacy, it makes sense that Dragon Ball clothing would become a must-have for fans.
