Laces in the EMP Shop

Traditionally, shoelaces are not given too much attention. They are right there with the shoe and you actually only notice them when they tear. But similar to small pieces of jewellery, they can have a terrific effect: If you pay attention to your outfit and are always on the lookout for new trends and the perfect style, you can even give your shoes a furious appearance.

With the matching laces, you can completely change not only your shoes, but your entire outfit. In the well-stocked shoelaces EMP online shop you will find a large selection.

Buying shoelaces – but which ones are the right ones?

In the past, colourful laces were only known for sneakers, while black, white and brown dominated classic shoes. Today you can really show off with laces in strong red or bright neon colours. They only really rock with motifs such as skulls, stars or hearts. It doesn't matter whether you opt for the tone-on-tone variant or rely on strong contrasts in bright colours.

With cool laces, your shoes will also be a real eye-catcher. On the other hand, you have to be careful: inappropriate and dirty shoelaces - especially with light-colored shoes - quickly look ridiculous.

Pimp up your Sneaker

Not all shoelaces are the same. They should be selected depending on the shoe and color, because there is also the right lace for every shoe. When it comes to sneakers and chucks, it's all about spicing up instead of fitting. These cool kicks are available in great colors and color combinations. You can buy matching laces from at least as large a selection and give your shoes that special something. At Chucks, white always works, but sometimes it's just time to try something new and show your colours. Be part of it and create your own street style!

And the lacing does it too. There are no limits to your imagination here, so you can start lacing up cheerfully. Everything is possible - from artfully braided to as simple and hidden as possible. The fact that shoelaces are also worn as necklaces is shown by model Kendall Jenner. She wears the inexpensive alternative around her neck in the style of a 90s choker or a cowboy bow. This trend is easy to follow and costs almost nothing in the EMP online shop.

Tips for the perfect shoelace look: Only use new or clean laces. Stained ribbons look unsightly on shoes. The more unusual the model, the better! How about metallic or colorful for the shoelace choker? Metal ends look particularly cool.

When the laces detached the buckles

At the end of the 18th century, people in England came up with the clever idea of closing their shoes with ribbons instead of buckles. This much simpler method of closing shoes gradually replaced the shoe buckles that had been used until then. The lace ends are called needles because they have to be threaded into the eyelets of the shoe, similar to a sewing needle. In addition, the needles are specially sheathed, welded or provided with a metal cap to prevent the ends from fraying.
