Blind Guardian official Merchandise at EMP!

Nobody is born a legend - you can only become one. Without a doubt, Blind Guardian have managed that feat - and they play an important role in the history of Heavy Metal, too. When they started the band in 1984, they were to become one of the most influential and most important bands of the Speed Metal genre - without even knowing it at that time. Even in those early days of Blind Guardian, outstanding albums like "Battalions Of Fear", "Tales From The Twilight World" or "Somewhere Far Beyond" were a demonstration of the musical brilliance the band and master mind Hansi Kürsch were capable of. Staccato guitars and double bass drums would become some of the trademarks making Blind Guardian and their sound unique. With their lyrics, Kürsch created a fictitious world based on the works of famous Fantasy genre writers that was a perfect fit for Blind Guardian. The bards, as the band members have been called for years now, have created a unique entity with Blind Guardian - even modern Metal bands like Heaven Shall Burn pay respect to that with their version of 'Valhalla' from the album "Follow The Blind" (released 1989).
