The Dutch symphonic metal band was founded in 1996, but they didn't have their international breakthrough until 2002 with their single "Ice Queen". Musically, Within Temptation move between Gothic, Symphonic and Power Metal. They experiment with their music and the musical elements they incorporate into their songs. Typical, however, is the high vocal range of frontwoman Sharon den Adel.
In their music career, the Dutch have sold over three million records worldwide so far. This makes them one of the most successful Dutch bands. So far, Within Temptation have released eight studio albums, three live albums and seven compilations. It's worth a listen!
