For Those About To Rock: We Salute You! When AC/DC made their debut in the Chequers Club in Sydney in 1973, covering rock and roll classics from no other than The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, no one quite knew that they would become one of the planet's largest bands.

Their musical career was to begin when brothers Malcolm and Angus Young started skipping school at the age of 15. Their first single "Can I Sit Next to You Girl? / Rockin' in the Parlour" didn't exactly take off as planned. The Young brothers believed it was Evans' fault, kicked him out of the band, and replaced him with Bon Scott.

AC/DC albums: from "High Voltage" to "Back in Black", via "Rock or Bust"

Together with Bon Scott, the Australians recorded a debut album that just oozed rock and roll, called "High Voltage". Bon Scott's smoky, unique voice, coupled with his legendary guitar riffs gave the album a unique sound, but not all fans were convinced.

These bourgeois of the 70s vilified women and sang about their boozy nights and partying habits. But it wasn’t just the women being vilified, their music was too, and so was their merchandise - AC/DC T-Shirts weren't looked kindly upon in many areas.

As a result, AC/DC had trouble playing at certain venues, but that's what made them even more successful. They ended up playing everywhere, no matter the size - AC/DC and rock and roll went hand in hand. The band was always on the road, but just a short time later we saw the arrival of the legendary "T.N.T" album, including even more rock masterpieces, such as "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", "Let There Be Rock", "Powerage" and "Highway To Hell".

The band were at breaking point when Bon Scott's body was found in his car, the cause of his death: alcohol poisoning, but they refused to give up. Just a short while later, they brought Brian Johnson into the band to replace Bon Scott, who died whilst recording "Back in Black". Brian was brought straight into the studio to carry on with recordings, and his voice was a hit.

"Back in Black" was released and is considered by many to be one of the best rock albums of all time. It followed on from albums of real rock classics such as "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)", "The Razors Edge" and "Stiff Upper Lip" Fancy freshening up your record collection? Rock or Bust

Their "Black Ice" and "Rock or Bust" albums prove that AC/DC still know how rock and roll should sound. Not even the most hardened rockers are as eternal as their songs. In 2014, Malcolm Young had to end his career due to a stroke.

But instead of giving up after 40 years of rock and roll, AC/DC kept on screaming their life motto and released the album "Rock or Bust" in 2014. Just two years later, Brian Johnson had to leave the band due to health reasons, and Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose was recruited to replace him for the Rock or Bust tour, after which bassist Cliff Williams also left the band.

Rest in Peace Malcolm Young

Malcolm Young's health hadn't been great for a while, and he left the band of his own accord in 2014. He died just three years later, on 18th November 2017, aged 64. Whilst one legend leaves us, his legendary riffs will always stay, and his guitar sound, timing and song writing will continue to influence countless musicians and fans alike all over the world.
